Evelyne at sacred lake, Karnak

Evelyne had wished to take a cruise in Egypt,
We had arrived in Cairo, then Aswan, from there, and we had taken the plane to see the magnificent temples moved from Abu Simbel, and then the boat trip up the Nile, Evelyne had bought this simple white tunic with a double blue border, We visited the great temple of Amun in Karnak on the shores of the sacred lake.
Evelyne saw a beetle and crouched down to get a closer look. I've always loved her hair and all the ways she combs it.
The sun against the light, her body as a concentrate of sensuality, I took the photo to remember this moment. It was not until many years later that I saw this photo again to make it a watercolor.
