Evelyne in the rain

We were invited to see a carnival in the north of France. It was a rainy morning and we had taken a few steps on the beach dock. Evelyne wore the same elegant white coat as in the painting “Evelyne au gant”. We were coming back from the mountain and she was still wearing her little white boots. Unfortunately, the carnival was a noisy event where the crowd was outrageously and colorfully dressed up and pushing each other hard. Evelyne disliked it. This moving crowd produced heat that evaporated and created a fog above them. We watched them pass from the balcony, Evelyne did not évent look at it and did not hide to show it to those who invited us, she was waiting for us to leave for Paris by car.
